BONNIE R. SAKS, MD
Dr. Saks received undergraduate and medical degrees from Brown University. She completed an internship in medicine at Montefore Hospital in New York and did residency training in obstetrics/gynecology and then psychiatry at Yale University. She was subsequently a clinical instructor at Yale in both departments. She also completed a sex therapy fellowship at Yale sponsored by the National Institute of Mental Health. Dr. Saks is now a Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of South Florida in Tampa. She is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, a Founding Fellow of the American Board of Sexology, on the editorial board of the Archives of Women's Mental Health, and President of the Society for Sex Therapy and Research. She was the Commencement Speaker and Grand Marshall for the 30th anniversary of Brown University Medical School in May, 2005. She was also among those chosen by her peers as "Best Doctors of Tampa Bay 2007 and 2008."

CINDY PARSONS, PhD, ARNP, BC
Cindy received her Masters of Science in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from Pace University in New York, and her undergraduate degree from Western Connecticut State University. She is certified in two specialties: Family Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and as a Clinical Specialist in Child/Adolescent Psychology/Mental Health.
Cindy has practiced as a psychiatric nurse practitioner for 10 years in Hillsborough and Polk counties. She maintains courtesy privileges with the University of South Florida College of Nursing. She is active in the American Nurse's Credentialing Center and has presented a significant number of educational offerings to both public and professional groups. She has authored a number of publications including contributing to nursing textbooks.

TERESA HOOVER, MS, ARNP, BC Teresa received both her Masters of Science in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing and her Bachelor of Science from the University of South Florida. Her graduate training focused on advanced nursing practice including health assessment, diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric illnesses, and therapy (individual, group and family). She is certified in Adult Psychiatric and Mental Health. Teresa is active in a variety of local, state, national and international nursing organizations including the International Society of Psychiatric Nurses. She is a member of the nursing honor society, Sigma Theta Tau. Teresa has been in nursing since 1986 and received psychiatric clinical experience at James Haley Veteran’s Hospital, St. Joseph’s Hospital and local private psychiatric offices. |

Sandra L. Engebretsen, Ph.D. , ARNP-BC Dr. Engebretsen earned a Post-master’s Certificate in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing at the University of South Florida and a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Health Services Administration from Florida Gulf Coast University. Her academic degrees include a B.S.N. (cum laude) and an M.Ed. from the University of Florida; an M.S.N. and a Ph.D.in (Psychosocial) Nursing from the University of Utah. Dr. Engebretsen has over 30 years of experience in nursing, in clinical practice, education, research, and administration. She has been a faculty member at the University of Florida, the University of Texas at Arlington, Brigham Young University, Florida Gulf Coast University, Barry University, and Boise State University. She served as a Commander in the Naval Reserves Nurse Corps and served in Health Sciences Research Training, Quality Management, and Administration. Her clinical practice in psychiatric-mental health focuses on stress management; social support; self-esteem enhancement; women’s mental health; mood disorders; functional health; and quality of life. She also specializes in geriatric-psychiatric care and grief counseling. Dr. Engebretsen is a member of several professional organization and honor societies. These include American Psychiatric Nurses Association; American Academy of Nurse Practitioners; American Nurses Association; Florida Nurses Association; National Alliance on Mental Illness; Phi Kappa Phi, National Honor Society; and Sigma Theta Tau, International Honor Society of Nursing.

CINDY SWAIN, MSW, LCSW
Cindy earned her Master of Social Work degree in 1988 from the University of Kentucky in Lexington, and completed her Bachelor’s degree from Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky in 1983 majoring in Social Work and Rehabilitation.
Cindy’s experience in the mental health field spans over 20 years. She provided counseling services to individuals, couples, adolescents, families and groups both in an out-patient setting and also in a residential setting. She held several positions at Northern Kentucky Treatment Center in Crittenden, Kentucky during her 7 year tenure including Juvenile Counselor, Treatment Director, Assistant Superintendent and Vocational Unit Director, where she served adolescents adjudicated delinquent. She then moved on to work as a Treatment Coordinator/Counselor for Concern: Employee Assistance Program in Cincinnati, Ohio where she remained for over 13 years providing counseling to couples and individuals of all ages and backgrounds. Prior to joining Dr. Saks and Associates, Cindy worked for Military OneSource through Ceridian Corporation in St. Petersburg, Florida where she provided comprehensive services to military service members and their families.
Cindy is a member of the National Association of Social Workers.

BETTY SLAVNEY, MS, LMHC
Ms. Slavney completed her Bachelor of Science in Education at the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1956. In 1988 Ms. Slavney earned her Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from NOVA University, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and in 1994 was named a National Certified Counselor by the National Board of Certified Counselors.
Prior to joining Bonnie R. Saks, MD and Associates in 1993, Ms. Slavney, while serving as a therapist at Tampa Jewish Family Services, was a consultant at Hillel School, was a social worker at the Mary Walker Seniors complex, led groups in family life education, and served as the Interim Executive Director. Ms. Slavney is a certified STEP trainer and has training in EMDR. She is a member of the Tampa Bay Association of Women Psychotherapists, the American Counseling Association, the American Mental Health Counselors Association, and the Tampa Bay Study Group for Trauma Disorders.
