Will my insurance
cover mental health services?
Most insurance companies do provide Mental Health coverage. In order to insure you
have coverage, always contact your insurance company prior to your appointment. Please note that your medical insurance carrier
and your mental health carrier may be two separate entities.
Where are you located and what are your hours?
Please view our directions and map page for location. The office hours are 9:00 – 12:00 and 1:00 – 5:00
weekdays. Our therapists are also available from 5:00 – 6:00 weekday evenings.
What is the difference between
a psychiatrist and a therapist?
A psychiatrist is a doctor and carries the credentials of M.D. Therefore, the doctor

(licensed mental health counselor) or as an LCSW (licensed clinical social worker) and is qualified to treat patients using
a variety of therapeutic techniques.
Do you treat children and adolescents?
As a policy, this office
does not treat anyone under the age of 18. We can refer out to qualified child psychiatrists and psychologists.
Are
your services strictly confidential?
By policy and by federal law, our services are always confidential. We cannot
share any information with anyone without a patient’s written consent.
Can anyone come to my appointments
with me?
It is always the patient’s choice about having anyone else present during a session, however, the
provider may need to treat the patient alone at times. Nobody can insist on joining a session without the patient’s
consent.
What is sex therapy?
Sex Therapy is a behavioral, six to twelve session therapy for couples
who desire greater intimacy and full sexual enjoyment in their lives. Dr. Saks specializes in this type of therapy and is
the only one in this office to offer it.
